Garden News!

One of the ways The Bridge Learning Centers are providing the students a nutrition education by developing The Bridge Learning Center Garden Program. The Garden Program promotes the eating of healthy fruits and vegetables by the students, while teaching them science and math in an interesting and stimulating environment. In this program, each class will have a certain plant that they will be responsible for. The garden will be planted every spring and fall, and the centers will harvest the gardens at the end of each season. Students will use this garden to measure, observe, and make scientific notes throughout the growing season. The students will have the chance to harvest, clean, prepare, cook, and eat the plants that they grow.

Summer Is Right Around the Corner!

Only 2 more months of school left before Summer break! What are your plans?? Will you be staying home with your children? Sending them away to visit family? OR will you be bringing your children to summer camp at The Bridge?! Camp Olympiad is all about traveling through time, from country to country, exploring culture, food and arts, all while celebrating the olympics throughout history!

We will be cooking food from France as we honor the 1900 French Summer Olympics. From there we’ll be in Germany, Japan, Mexico, the United States and we’ll even be traveling through time to the Intergalactic Future-Space Olympics!

Acts of Kindness

For winter break, our AfterSchool Zone students celebrated “Acts of Kindness.” Our Stonebridge students visited a local nursing home and brought fresh, baked cookies for the residents in hopes to brighten their days and put a smile on their faces.

February is Children’s Dental Health Month!

Each February, the American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors National Children’s Dental Health Month to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. NCDHM messages and materials have reached millions of people in communities across the country.

Developing good habits at an early age and scheduling regular dental visits helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.

The Bridge locations will have dental specialists visiting our 3 and 4 year old classes to discuss the importance of dental health. Be sure to ask your children what they learned and help them implement the healthy teeth routine at home!

National Puzzle Day

On January 27, at The Bridge Learning Centers, we celebrated National Puzzle Day.
Our students and teachers brought in their favorite puzzles, from the traditional jigsaw puzzle to the Rubik’s Cube puzzle and even word puzzles! Everyone enjoyed sharing and giving their brains a good stretch.

Puzzles are great at-home activities that are fun, but also very good for development. Puzzles encourage concentration, logical thinking and patience. They also offer a much-needed break from the constant stimulation of technology!
